Third week in France

I don't even know if I'm doing this right...

People doing these blogs that I've seen have it all pretty and fancy with pictures and colours, why am i such an illiterate computer creep! I want pretty colours and pictures too! Google chrome keeps underlining colours. IM NOT AMERICAN FUCK OFF

oh look picture! that took a ridiculous time to upload btw hope everyone appreciates it. Like fuck yous will but anyways

Subheading.. just because I can

minor heading which will be dedicated to strikes in France.

SOOO last week Jenny and I decided to do a big food shop and get all our groceries (hate that word) in for the week. It was a disgusting hideous windy and rainy day, but its ok we took the metro which dropped us off right outside the shop.. happy days. Or not. en route back with a million (NOT even an exaggeration) bags we hear an announcement telling us to get off the train cause the arsehole in the train in front has decided to strike and we can't get past. FURIOUS doesn't even cover it. So we crawl off the train and ask the guy working what to do. "Oh just go outside (in the pissing wind and rain) walk across the bridge for about 20 mins and get the bus," came the reply.. aye just you watch me mate. So we sat and I huffed and 30 mins or so later another train comes packed to fuck. There clearly wasn't any room but we'd been waiting for so long I was determined to get on. So i did. Stood on a few feet but tough you were in my way. Most uncomfortable 15 mins journey of my life and nearly lost Jenny in the crowd but we got home safe.

What i have learned in France...

  • How to do bullet points on a blog for one
  • How to say "LOOK! there is a hedgehog," in German
  • That it is cheaper to buy wine than food (not complaining)
  • That everyone has a fucking staring problem EVERYONE
  •  That if you stand alone in the street for a few minutes you will get pushed into and shoved
  • That it raining far more than Northern Ireland which is absolutely ridiculous
  • If we go out for a night out it is inevitable that we will end up in O'Kallaghans.
So week three has been pretty good, found an unreal salsa bar club kinda thing. Is kinda even a word?! Google chrome didn't underline it but it insists in underlining colours.. dead on. Here's a picture to prove that we partied in a cave. The picture was meant to be underneath but as you can see it was a massive fail so look above ^^^^^
I'm actually not as angry as usual this week because I'm God forbid starting to enjoy it a wee bit. Even warming to my wee family, though I'm still shit scared of their creepy basement *sinister*
It was Joe's birthday yesterday and we bought him a hob because he lives in a flat with literally nothing, not even a fridge or internet. I would honestly have killed myself long ago if that was me. Thankfully my family finally admitted the "Weefee" works and I've been taking full advantage ever since including having weefee parties where everyone comes and brings their laptops and sits together in unsociable silence and only talking to eachother through facebook.

Here's a picture to prove everybody hates British people.. LOOK at that girls face. Seriously go away.

see ye next week

aye

Hate doing blogs like this CRINGE but anyways.

So finally on my year abroad and have to go to France despite the fact I despise the language, the people (some of them) and the food, I'm only doing it because my Uni (Aberdeen) is decent at French and I get decent grades so might as well go along with it.

First day was disgusting, got the plane from Belfast to Charles de Gaule in Paris and it's a fuck off massive place and nearly got lost. had to get 3 different trains to Rouen which was a nightmare and I would still be in Paris now if it wasn't for a random helping me (I cried.)

So i got here, spanish teacher picked me up (late) took me to "mcdo" aka McDonalds took me to hers and told me I had to go into class with her the next day at like 7, fucking ridiculous I was wrecked!!!!

Went to my school the next day, was ok just sat in and watched her do spanish then the English teacher picked me up to take me to my studio. Got to the studio, it was freezing, no internet, no phone, the family were weird and I cried again. So sat feeling sorry for myself then remembered a girl I met on facebook was here so text Jenny, she said she needed help moving in so I said I'd help seeing how she lives 20 seconds down the road. Took a bottle of wine, we got tipsy, decided to go out to mcdo, then stumbled across a cocktail bar and it would be rude not to so had a few mojitos and a free one (cheers xavier) and departed.

Next day my electric went off in my studio and the family had pissed off somewhere without telling me, it was getting dark and was shitting myself  so I packed a bag of clothes and food and wine and went to Jenny's to have dippy eggs and toast. A beautiful friendship began.

Crawled back to mine the next day, no sign of them so went to the market with Jenny. Liverpool were playing United that day and Sunday being a day of football in pubs back home silly me assumed we could find somewhere to watch it. but no this is france. so ran back to mine to watch it and we got beat HAPPY DAYS. never a penalty though or a sending off fs.

Monday met the other assistants Caroline, Leanne and Chris dead on people like. trooped about Rouen, got fucked violently fucked over by SFR (French phone and internet company,) went home and cried again. went to Jenny's (I basically live there now) had more wine and i was happy.

Tuesday was first day of class. Got told by a teacher upon me trying to enter the staffroom "It's teachers only in here) lefal i look like 12. walked into class everyone was like "who's the new girl) lefal I'm your teacher. The oldest class is 20 year olds and youngest is 15. The 15 year olds are actually way nicer and they seem to actually like me the older ones are like wtf shes our age.. don't blame them I'm the same, its weird. Also got a phone number of one of the children.. pretty awkward.

Wednesday met the assistants again, and a new one Kaitlyn from Canada. Made chicken curry that night at Jenny's and painted the Canada flag on Kaitlyn's nails (unreal if i do say so myself)

Its Thursday now and I'm talking shite, sitting here with Kaitlyn and Jenny. Found out my family had wifi the whole time, this is after me spending 40 odd euro on a shit internet connection but sure. Also finally have heating which is amazing and a coat.

aye.

P.S Chris if you are reading this, you broke my chair.
